Hi, my name is Diana Guaman. I am 35 years old, and I will talk about how I felt during the Connecticut Health Career Institute program. The first time I went to the program, I felt very shy and very nervous. After a few days passed, I’m very happy that I made new friends and that I got very comfortable with my teachers. I’m proud that I’ve learned new things and a lot of things that I don’t know of in the past. My favorite things that I am learning was checking someone’s pulse. I learned that the care of an elder is important. It’s important for me to be doing what I do. Whoever would like to go to the program and try it out I would really recommend it, because it’s a very good school and you get to make friends.

First of all, thanks to this school for helping me to achieve, with a single step, what I thought was impossible for me, thanks to my teacher Tatiana because she never took her foot off the line with all of us. I’m so Thankful for this school because it accepts you no matter if you start from scratch or not. All the staff helps you so that you have another opportunity. Thank you all very much for your support and now I have something to pursue, where I thought I didn’t before. Thank you very much.

Life as a student of CHCI, I started this class with so much uncertainty, thinking that this was going to take a lot out of me, being so far from home and work. Once we are in class, all that was not on my mind. Our teachers made learning easy and interesting. All our questions were answered. Even the ones that were not so” IQ friendly” were answered without a frown and there were A LOT of those questions. Illustrations and role play brought a different feel to the subject making it easier to understand and comfortable.
